2010 DC Metropolitan Food, Libations & Luxury Home Show

What a blast my hubby, Tre, and I had this past weekend at the DC Metropolitan Food, Libations & Luxury Home Show! We viewed amazing art, learned about the hottest trends in home design, and sampled and took home some amazing edibles (banana bread and gourmet apples and bbq sauce, oh my)!

As we clamored for all these delectibles, hundreds of others clamored for Mallow Munchies. I'd say we made quite a few new Munchie fan-addicts. Hear from one now...

I must make you aware, if you aren't already, of some artists and food artisans that I met at the show and now can't live without:

Back from the Boom Boom Room

Mallow Munchies was recently invited to participate in a pre-Golden Globe Awards gifting suite called The Boom Boom Room. While it was a great honor to be invited, it was a tremendous undertaking pulling it off. Despite about a four week notice, hiccups in getting materials completed and down-to-the-wire delivery of items to the event, it was a success!

The celebs were shockingly down-to-earth and genuinely nice. None seemed to be in any rush, each taking time to get to know our business, enjoying the taste of the Munchies and telling us their story. New fan-addicts were created, including Tisha Campbell-Martin who tasted one and responded, "This is good as a mugg!"

Another serious fan was made in Ali Landry who Crunch Munched her way around the event and then sent back an assistant to pick up seconds.

Some event highlights were meeting super-sweet and super intelligent Yara Shahidi ("Imagine That") and her mom (also an actor) Keri, and meeting Bill and Scout - the super fun "guncles" from "Tori and Dean." I could hang out with all of them all day. So fun!

The event wasn't short on eye-candy for me...

... or for my husband, Tre...

All in all it was a fab event. Mallow Munchies was wonderfully received and many Boom Boom Room guests will be receiving a stash of treats from orders placed for kids parties, wedding favors, etc.

More sweet adventures to come. I'll keep you posted.

By the way, check out my Facebook page (friend/fan "Mallow Munchies") for even more shots from this event.

Sweet regards!
